Social Security Disability
Hayward, Wisconsin, Social Security Disability Attorneys
A disability that leaves you unable to work will often result in financial hardships for you and your family. Whether you have suffered a recent injury or are unable to work as the result of an illness or disease, our attorneys at Lein Law Offices can assert your rights to Social Security Disability benefits to help secure financial relief.
If you have become disabled (either in a work-related accident or otherwise) and you can no longer hold a job, you may be entitled to Social Security Disability benefits. Contact us to assert your rights and claims.
There are two forms of Social Security Disability:
Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI)
A worker who has worked long enough and recently enough (based on "quarters of coverage" within the recent past) to be covered can receive disability benefits. To receive SSDI, you must have worked 10 out of the last 20 quarters and be unable to work at any job currently.
Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
SSI is a monthly stipend provided to aged (legally deemed to be 65 or older), blind, or disabled persons based on individual need. It is a welfare payment for individuals with no assets and for those who have not worked enough to qualify for SSDI.
Qualifying for Social Security Disability Benefits
One of the most significant challenges is meeting the medical impairment listing requirements. Our attorneys will help you collect medical documentation and present findings of your illness and disability to demonstrate your inability to work.
Denied claims and appeals
Typically, a large percentage of people who apply are denied on their initial application. There is usually an initial determination, reconsideration and a hearing. Our attorneys can assist you in collecting proper evidence and preparing a compelling case for your appeal. At the hearing level, most of the claims are approved.
Do not give up. You have rights and options. Contact us even if you have been denied after an initial filing or appeal.
